Rosemond EMI Co. and Offshore Industries Co. (SAFF) have jointly invested in establishing a plant for production of Sodium Methoxide. The plant is located in Boushehr special economy zone, south of Iran in an area of 15,000 Sq.m with the capacity of 20,000 Mt/year SMO solution and 6,000 Mt/year SMO powder with purity of 99.5%. Sodium Methoxide is a derivative of Methanol which is popular petrochemical material in Iran. SMO is used as catalyst in both biofuel production process and pharmaceutical industries.
